Professional Collaboration

Juniper Tree Therapy has grown from an identified need to provide specialist services in Leeds and beyond, which truly understands and appreciates each child’s own journey. We feel privileged to work alongside other organisations in our local area, whose benefit to our families we have seen first hand.

Leeds Centre for Attachment and Trauma (LCAT)

We consider the influence of children’s developmental experiences, sensory processing, and how they make sense of the world around them. This helps us to understand what might be underneath any difficulties or barriers they come across in daily life.

We aim to offer thoughtful, specialist support that considers the whole family. However, we recognise that no single person holds the full picture. We all have a different piece of the ‘puzzle’ – the child, their family, professionals, and other Key Adults around the family.

We understand it is sometimes hard for families – and for the professionals that support them – to know what the best starting point might be, especially when problems are complex or feel all-consuming. At such times, it’s particularly helpful to work together to understand where the need may be, and plan a way forward using the family’s knowledge of their child, and different professional lenses to see things more clearly. This collaborative process helps us understand what is stuck, and what the first step may be in addressing this. Sometimes it’s the OT piece, sometimes it’s the psychological piece – or it may be a mix of both.

Leeds Centre for Attachment and Trauma (LCAT) is a specialist child, adolescent and adult psychotherapy service who we feel privileged to work alongside. When families may benefit from both Psychotherapy and Occupational Therapy, particularly through the Sensory Attachment Intervention (SAI) framework, we offer an integrated and responsive assessment pathway. Our goal is to ensure that therapeutic support feels cohesive, safe, and never overwhelming.

As part of our referral package, we will ask your consent to discuss your referral with LCAT. This enables you to experience a streamlined therapeutic pathway, ensuring the safest and most effective use of time and funding.

Charity Partner: Little Hiccups

Little Hiccups is a wonderful, Leeds-based, parent-led support charity that offers a wide range of services for families with children who have disabilities or additional needs. From fun-filled family days out and parent/carer events to hydrotherapy, equipment hire, and more, they create opportunities for connection, support, and joy.

We’ve truly loved visiting during their Stay ‘n’ Play sessions and witnessing firsthand the warm, inclusive, and uplifting environment that the Little Hiccups community fosters.

We deeply admire their vision, dedication, and resilience—and the strength and unity of the community they’ve built as they continue to grow.

As part of our collaboration, we offer a range of workshops and sessions for families registered with Little Hiccups. These sessions explore key themes and challenges that are commonly experienced by families of children with disabilities or additional needs.

We’ve also developed a dedicated Little Hiccups Portal, filled with helpful resources for families to explore at their own pace.
